prep baker

Part-time opportunity (20-30 hours/week)

We’re looking for fun, ambitious people to join us at our new storefront! Prep bakers are vital to a high-volume kitchen like ours, ensuring all ingredients are ready for the early morning bakers to push out product on time. You'll do a bit of cooking and a bit of baking: imagine whipping and packaging cream cheese, caramelizing onions, making cookie dough and chopping chives all in a day's work. Good knife skills and time management skills are key in this role. Independent workers who can work off a task list will find this satisfying -- we'll give you clear instructions and demonstrate what we need, and you'll make sure it's in the fridge the next morning. 

Ideal schedule for us is Wednesday-Friday from 7 AM - 3 PM, but we may accommodate your schedule if we love you!

The ideal candidate will be pleasant to work with, a team player who’s not above any task, hard-working and able to handle a very fast-paced work environment. We like to have fun, but we take our work very seriously -- you should too!

Minimum requirements -- please make sure you meet these before applying:

  • Prior food service/back-of-house experience OR sky-high desire to learn
  • Available between 6 AM and 3 PM Wednesdays through Friday with reliable transportation
  • Stellar problem-solving skills, an ability to think quickly and remain calm under pressure
  • Good knife skills (dicing, slicing, julienning)
  • Ability to work off a detailed recipe, scaling it up or down if needed

Full-time opportunity (40 hours/week)

We’re looking for fun, ambitious people to join us at our new storefront! Sandwich Makers are integral in making our business run smoothly by making tasty food quickly and delivering it with care. Tying the food and the customer service together, this role makes be the difference between an average experience for our customers and an amazing one. Driven, motivated people with an eye for detail and a friendly disposition will find this work exciting!

The ideal candidate will be pleasant to work with, a team player who’s not above any task, hard-working and able to handle a very fast-paced work environment. We like to have fun, but we take our work very seriously -- you should too!

Minimum requirements -- please make sure you meet these before applying:

  • Prior food service/back-of-house experience (line cook, prep cook, etc.)
  • Available between 6 AM and 3 PM Wednesdays through Sundays with reliable transportation
  • Friendly disposition and a desire to engage with our customers
  • Stellar problem-solving skills, an ability to think quickly and remain calm under pressure
  • Good knife skills – we cut bagels open many, many times a day
  • Ability to work independently and good pacing – the head baker will step in to help you during the rush, but you should be able to deliver food quickly during non-peak hours

We’re looking for a baker to join us at our new storefront! You’ll be making dough, rolling, boiling and baking bagels, preparing cream cheese, and prepping other food for service.

The ideal candidate will be pleasant to work with, a team player who’s not above any task, hard-working and able to handle a very fast-paced work environment. We like to have fun, but we take our work very seriously -- you should too!

Minimum requirements -- please make sure you meet these before applying:

  • Prior experience in a professional kitchen is an absolute must -- internships and paid work count!
  • High stamina and endless hustle
  • Available between 3 AM and 2 PM Wednesday through Sunday (actual hours may vary)
  • Fit enough to lift 50-lb bags of flour and stand on your feet for hours at a time
  • Familiarity with our brand and products
  • Above all, we value reliability. You must always be on time and ready to work at your best.

Preferred qualifications -- these are nice-to-haves:

  • Background/experience in bread or pastry
  • An affinity for numbers (scaling up/down recipes, for example)

This role is specifically designed for aspiring bakers and Pastry/Culinary students. Career-switchers, recent high school grads, retired desk monkeys and anything in between are welcome to apply. We'll bring you in and show you the ropes for a month. If you like us and we like you, we may offer you a full-time role or help you find the right role for you somewhere else!

We’re looking for fun, ambitious people to join us at our new storefront! Front of House team members will be the face of our brand and should aim to make each customer interaction special. You will work one-on-one with each customer, bagging their bagels, taking their sandwich orders, grabbing deli case items, serving pastries and coffee, and ringing them up. This role has a lot of growth potential as our business expands, and we'd love to groom the right person for higher-level roles in operations and management.

The ideal candidate will be pleasant to work with, a team player who’s not above any task, hard-working and able to handle a very fast-paced work environment. We like to have fun, but we take our work very seriously -- you should too!
