front of house leader

Full-time opportunity (40-45 hours/week)

We’re looking for fun, ambitious people to join us at our storefront! The Front of House Leader is responsible for ensuring great customer service, delegating tasks to team members, managing opening & closing tasks, handling our special order (catering) program, and reordering packaging and beverages. You would be managing a team of 3-5 people, depending on the day of the week.

Please note this role is NOT for a General Manager: You are not expected to hire or fire team members, schedule shifts, or manage any financials for the business. This role is more like a shift supervisor.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced or promising leader who is not afraid to get their hands dirty. This role works very closely with the owner and there is plenty of room for growth as the business expands. You will be expected to lead by example and take initiative to constantly improve our operations. We like people who have good ideas and the drive to implement them!

Minimum requirements -- please make sure you meet these before applying:

  • 2+ years experience in customer service (retail and/or food & beverage)
  • Demonstrated leadership (in or out of work) and excellent references to support it
  • Available between 6 AM and 3 PM Wednesdays through Sundays with reliable transportation (actual hours may vary)
  • Friendly disposition and a desire to engage with our customers
  • Stellar problem-solving skills and the ability to think quickly and remain calm under pressure
  • Familiarity with our brand and products
  • Above all, we value reliability. You must always be on time and ready to work at your best.

Preferred qualifications -- these are nice-to-haves:

  • 1+ years leadership experience (shift supervisors, assistant managers, etc.)

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Serving customers and ensuring good customer service
  • Assigning tasks and side work
  • Ensuring opening and closing tasks are completed in the time allotted
  • Keeping accurate inventory of drinks and packaging and re-ordering as needed
  • Closing the register and preparing bank deposits
  • Maintaining the front of house clean & tidy
  • Managing special orders: Reviewing online order form, sending invoices to customers, packing orders
  • Training new FOH team members as needed

Full-time and part-time opportunities available 

We’re looking for fun, ambitious people to join us at our storefront! Front of House team members will be the face of our brand and should aim to make each customer interaction special. You will work one-on-one with each customer, bagging their bagels, taking their sandwich orders, grabbing deli case items, serving pastries and coffee, and ringing them up. 

The ideal candidate will be pleasant to work with, a team player who’s not above any task, hard-working and able to handle a very fast-paced work environment. We like to have fun, but we take our work very seriously -- you should too!

Minimum requirements -- please make sure you meet these before applying:

  • Available between 6 AM and 3 PM Wednesdays through Sundays with reliable transportation (actual hours may vary)
  • Friendly disposition and a desire to engage with our customers

Social Media & Marketing Intern

Part-time unpaid opportunity (up to 10 hours per week)

We’re looking for fun, ambitious people to join us at our storefront! The Social Media & Marketing Intern will work closely with our owner Milena to craft and execute a customer engagement strategy. You’ll help us photograph our food and space to put together social media posts that tell our story, dream up email marketing promotions and track in-store sales impact, and test different Facebook ads strategies.

This position is ideal for (but not limited to) college students looking to earn credits through an internship while learning essential business skills. The ideal candidate will have a killer eye for photography and an intuition for what makes an Instagram post good. Graphic design skills would come in handy too! An affinity with numbers will help, but Milena would be delighted to teach you the business side of things – after all, that’s what internships are for 😊

Minimum requirements -- please make sure you meet these before applying:

  • Available for 6-10 hours per week (flexible schedule)
  • Solid photography skills & equipment
  • A killer social media presence (please include Instagram handle)
  • An understanding of Instagram (stories, posts, ads) and Facebook business pages
  • Familiarity with our brand and products
  • Above all, we value reliability. You must always be on time and ready to work at your best.

Preferred qualifications -- these are nice-to-haves:

  • Familiarity with Excel (so we can track the results of our marketing campaigns)
  • Graphic design skills (e.g. Illustrator) so we can create super fly marketing materials

Responsibilities include:

  • Building a bank of photos to use across social media & marketing vehicles
  • Posting to our social media accounts and engaging with customers online
  • Generating ideas for in-store promotions and drafting email marketing campaigns
  • Creating custom marketing materials (flyers, signs, etc.)
